A factory run by a father and son in East China's Shandong Province has helped more than 200 disabled workers find jobs over the past 30 years. The owner of the factory said he would never allow any employee in the factory to look down on them.
Chen Baoping, head of the factory, said the factory was founded by his father in 1991 and has spared no effort to help disabled people find jobs ever since. "As the degree of mechanization increases and disabled people are unable to perform some positions, we are also trying to arrange some work for them to ensure their income," he said.
A disabled worker who came to the factory in 1991 said his salary had increased from 100 yuan ($14) to 5,000 yuan over the past 30 years. The boss joked that he would be responsible for the disabled workers as long as they did not fire him.
Chen said that some clients would look down upon disabled workers when they came to the factory. "I am unhappy with those who look down upon disabled workers and will never allow such things to happen in our factory," he added.
