'Elements and Boundaries' - photo exhibition

This photographic exhibition in Shenyang, Liaoning Province features artworks created by two artists - Michael Cherney from the US and Liu Lihong from China.

Focusing on artists from different cultural backgrounds, the show aims to provide visitors with a visual journey of China's natural landscapes and urban scenery.

While Liu, a veteran Chinese photographer based in Shenyang, is known for his photos about ordinary Chinese people, Cherney, a US-born Chinese culture lover, has a special art style in which he takes landscape photos that imitate the aesthetics of traditional Chinese paintings.

The artwork Ten Thousand Li of the Yangtze River took Cherney seven years to complete. It includes 42 handscrolls captured along China's "Mother River" that were inspired by an anonymous Song Dynasty (960-1279) handscroll that was collected in a Washington DC gallery in the US.

In an interview with the Global Times, the US artist said that he has a deep love of Chinese culture.

Through his different artistic journeys, he has seen China's rapid development first hand.

Although he has lost count of just how many places he has visited across the country, Cherney said that he will continue to pursue his passion for Chinese landscape art for the rest of his life.

'Memorial Blank' - art exhibition

This art exhibition in Chengdu, Sichuan Province is a show about memory.

Art installations and photography are the two main categories in this exhibition. Most of the artworks on display were created by emerging Chinese artists across the country.

The show is divided into three sections. The first section shows installation works that discuss the issue of how people's different memories can be seen as modules in their brains that inspire them to think about life.

Artworks in the second section depict lost memories that allow us to reflect on past events, be they happy moments or painful incidents.

The third section uses art to propose a question about the existence of memory. Along with the three sections, the exhibition is an art show that has a slight hint of philosophical beauty.

As a bonus, when visitors purchase a ticket at the door, they can receive a small bottle of perfume as a gift.
