 A: I watched a Chinese play about a folk love story. It was brilliant!

我看了一场由中国民间爱情故事改编的话剧,非常精彩！

B: Really? What was the story about?

A: The name is The Legend of the White Snake. It tells a story about an immortal white snake who falls in love with a man. The two overcome many difficulties and finally live happily ever after.

话剧名字叫做《白蛇传》。故事讲述了一条修行成仙的白蛇爱上了一个男子, 两人克服许多困难,最终结为良缘。

B: Isn't this play adapted from one of China's four most famous folk love stories?

A: Yes. In addition, there are three other stories: The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, Meng Jiangnü and The Butterfly Lovers.
