Malaysia's biggest oceanarium Aquaria KLCC unveiled a winter-themed display for the holiday season on Wednesday.
The theme will be accompanied by events including snowmaking machines to produce snowfall, walkabouts and other activities, which will run till Jan. 8 next year, the organizer said in a statement.
"The public is encouraged to visit Aquaria KLCC during this period and experience the magical Winter Wondersea while spending quality time with loved ones, exploring the unique and wondrous magic of the ocean and its inhabitants," it said.
As part of the season, the organizer partnered with Make-A-Wish Malaysia, a charitable organization that grants wishes to critically ill or underprivileged children. This year Aquaria KLCC pledged to sponsor the wishes of three children in the hopes of bringing renewed strength and encouragement to the children and their families.
"It's a season of love, peace, and goodwill. We support Make-A-Wish Malaysia's initiatives to bring encouragement and joy which will hopefully last all year for critically ill children and families through our festive event. We also wish to inspire and spark interest in marine life and the conservation of the sea," Aquaria KLCC managing director Simon Foong said.
For her part, Make-A-Wish Malaysia chairwoman Linda Ngiam said helping ill children put aside their long and painful treatment and experience the wonders of the oceanarium will help bring joy back into their lives and encourage healing.
