Two Palestinian militants were killed on Thursday during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, Palestinian medics and local sources said.
The incident happened in the Al-Hadaf neighborhood in the Jenin refugee camp, said medics in the city of Jenin.
An Israeli armed force, backed by armored vehicles, stormed the refugee camp and targeted a house with anti-tank missiles. Fierce clashes broke out between the soldiers and Palestinian militants, said local sources and eyewitnesses.
One of the killed is a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the other belongs to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, according to the sources.
The sources said the Israeli armed force pulled out from the refugee camp after arresting four wanted Palestinians.
Tension in the West Bank has been mounting since March. Official figures from both sides showed that since January, more than 200 Palestinians and more than 20 Israelis were killed in a series of attacks.
