soft bean curd / 豆腐脑 / (dòufǔnǎo) 

A: I heard that you've eaten a lot of traditional Chinese snacks. I want to take you to try something that you have never eaten before today.  

听说你吃过很多中国传统小吃,我今天要带你尝一种你从没吃过的。

(tīnɡshuō nǐ chīɡuò hěnduō zhōnɡɡuó chuántǒnɡ xiǎochī, wǒ jīntiān yào dàinǐ chánɡ yīzhǒnɡ nǐ cónɡméi  chīɡuò de.)

B: Really? What are you going to take me to eat?   

是吗?你准备带我吃什么?

(shìma?nǐ zhǔnbèi dàiwǒ chī shenme?)

A: I want you to try soft bean curd. It is a traditional snack that is loved in China's north and south.  

我要带你吃豆腐脑,这是一道在中国南北方都受人喜爱的传统小吃。

(wǒyào dàinǐ chī dòufǔnǎo, zhèshì yīdào zài zhōnɡɡuó nánběifānɡ dōu shòurén xǐài  de chuántǒnɡ xiǎochī.)

B: Soft bean curd sounds like it related to tofu, but what actually is it?   

豆腐脑听起来和豆腐相关,但它究竟是什么呢?

(dòufǔnǎo tīnɡqǐlái hé dòufǔ xiānɡɡuān, dàntā jiūjìnɡ shì shenmene?)

A: The most obvious characteristic of soft bean curd is that it is tender and soft. It also has high nutritional value.

豆腐脑最大的特点是细嫩柔软,它的营养价值也很高。

(dòufǔnǎo zuìdà de tèdiǎn shì xìnèn róuruǎn, tāde yínɡyǎnɡ jiàzhí yěhěnɡāo.)

B: So what's different about the flavors of soft bean curd?   

那豆腐脑的口味有什么不同吗?

(nà dòufǔnǎo de kǒuwèi yǒu shenmebùtónɡ ma?)

A: You're asking the right question. Northern soft bean curd is usually salty, while the Southern ones tend to be sweet. 

这你就问对了,北方的豆腐脑一般是咸口,而南方的豆腐脑口味则偏甜。
