A 365-story, 4-meter-high sugarcane tower made of 180 kilograms of sugarcane was displayed to the public in East China's Fujian Province, implying that life is getting sweeter just like the sugarcane.
The tower was built over three days by local artisans, decorating the front and back of the tower with blessings such as "good luck" and "happiness." And the tower attracts many local residents and tourists go to pray for good fortune.
The tower is made by cutting the cane into small round segments. As the construction does not use any adhesive and completely rely on skills of artisans, the construction need to take at least three days waiting for the cane slices to shrink.
"There is enough sugar in the cane, which becomes sticky when it is precipitated, making the tower solid in its construction," said a staff member.
