'A League of ­Nobleman': Period suspense TV series 

Released on January 30 on streaming platform Tencent Video, Chinese period suspense TV series A League of Nobleman tells the story of Zhang Ping, a simple and honest young man who likes to investigate cases, and the gentleman Lan Jue, an official from the Ministry of Rites, as they cooperate to solve mysteries and protect their town.

The drama was originally adapted from the novel Zhanggong'an, which gained high popularity after its publication in 2011. Lan is a good friend as well as a good mentor for the protagonist Zhang and helps Zhang become a mature detective. 

'Dream of the Red Chamber' to be staged as ballet dance

One of the most epic masterpieces of Chinese literature, Dream of the Red Chamber, will be staged as an original ballet show by the National Ballet of China from ­Friday to February 18 at the Tianqiao Theater in Beijing.

The ballet will present this pinnacle of Chinese classic novels, which has far-reaching influence and a world-renowned reputation, through romantic Western-style narration. 

This combination surely poses a challenge for all the creators and dancers. 

One of the four great classical novels of Chinese literature first published in 1791, the Dream of the Red Chamber by Cao Xueqin and Gao E of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), tells a story through the perspective of Jia Baoyu, a young man from a wealthy family, and his tangled relationship with Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai. 

It's an epic showing the beauty of women and complicated ancient Chinese society from all angles.
