Man carries a bullet to 'ward off evil spirits' receives five days in detention

A man carrying a bullet into a train station in Nanning, South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was arrested by railway police. According to relevant regulations, the man was detained for five days for illegally carrying ammunition.

Police at the scene found that the bullet structure is complete, and was not fired live. After investigation, the man surnamed Qin claimed that the bullet he carried was given to him by his wife surnamed Liang on January 26 to ward off evil spirits.

Police spoke to Liang on the phone and learned that the bullet is a gift from a friend 20 years ago, and was recently sent to her husband Qin.

According to the relevant provisions of the Law on Public Security Administration and Punishment, local police sentenced Qin to five days of administrative detention for illegally carrying ammunition and confiscated the bullet he carried.
