The Korean Cultural Center, Shanghai will run a film event featuring 15 South Korean films and a photo exhibition of 200 Korean actors at the center from Friday to February 25, as part of the effort to deepen culture exchanges between China and South Korea, the Global Times learned from the center.

Co-organized by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the screening selected 15 popular Korean films, including BROKER, a 2022 drama film which won the Best Actor Award at 2022 Cannes Film Festival; HUNT, a film directed by Lee Jung-jae in his feature directorial debut; and THE ROUNDUP, a most popular crime action film in South Korea in 2022.

Reservations for film watching are required through the official WeChat account of the Korean Cultural Center in advance. The event is free to visitors.

The film screening is a follow-up event after KOFIC organized a China film screening in Seoul at the end of last year to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and South Korea.

The event selected 13 latest movies favored by Chinese audiences and successful China-Korea film productions. Among them, Hi, Mom was selected as the opening film of the China film screening, marking its debut in South Korea.

At the same time, the Korean Culture Center, Shanghai will put on a photography exhibition titled KOREAN ACTORS 200. In 2021, KOFIC selected 200 most representative actors and actresses and invited them to shoot photos and videos to introduce Korean film industry to world audience.

It is hoped that the activity can enhance cultural exchanges and understanding between China and South Korea and become an opportunity to deepen and expand bilateral relations, Kang Yongmin, director of Korean Cultural Center in Shanghai said.
