Beijing Fenglei Peking Opera Drama 'Xiwu'

Peking Opera Xiwu will be performed at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm every day from March 9-12.

The Beijing Fenglei Peking Opera Troupe brings a modern drama that tells the story of a narcotics police officer.

Since a car accident three years ago shattered the life of aging narcotics police officer Dacheng, he has suffered from severe PTSD. The illness and his wife's jaded outlook has worn him down while creating a filter for him to see the world anew.

Meanwhile, police officer Yan Chen finds a pile of cash inside a milk crate.

He realizes that the person he always saw as family has been working with drug dealers.

Trapped between his oath to the police and love, what path does he choose?

The Beijing Fenglei Peking Opera Troupe is a state-owned troupe.

Founded 60 years ago, it has trained many famous actors from all over the country.

Exhibition of Zhelin Site in Shanghai

The Exhibition of Archaeological Achievements of the Zhelin Site kicked off at the Shanghai Fengxian District Museum on Friday. The exhibition displays the latest archaeological discoveries from the Liangzhu culture so visitors can feel the charm of the ancient civilization.

The 5,000-year-old Zhelin Site is located on the north shore of Hangzhou Bay in Shanghai. Discovered in 1973 during an excavation of the river, the site was made one of the city's protected cultural heritage sites in 1977.

Two successive archaeological excavations of the Zhelin site were conducted in 2018 and 2020, revealing the remains of Liangzhu culture tombs, ash pits, ash ditches and pillar cave groups.

These rich cultural relics have provided further insight into the lives of the people of the Liangzhu culture.

The exhibition is set to end on April 6.
