Successful Conclusion of "Towards the Light" 2023 Sanda University Fashion Institute Exhibition and Fashion Show on "Culture Leading Fashion Consumption"
From June 11th to 12th, the "Towards the Light" 2023 Sanda University Fashion Institute's exhibition and showcase took place at the Shanghai CONSINEE Center. This event received strong support from CONSINEE Group Limited and Shihong Textile Limited. It was jointly organized by Sanda University and Oriental International Group, and co-hosted by the Fashion Institute, Shanghai International Fashion Education Center (SIFEC), and Fashion Consumer Goods Industry Institute.
The "Towards the Light" 2023 Sanda University Fashion Institute's Fashion Show featured the works of first and second-year students in the show "Sharpness" and the faculty shows "The Dream of Zhuangzi's Butterfly" and "PINK ILLUSION."
On June 12th, the graduation show for the class of 2023 showcased over 80 sets of design works from students majoring in fashion and apparel design. The event fully showcased the distinctive characteristics of Sanda University's educational level, focusing on the cultivation of applied talents, emphasizing professional competence and skills, and making efforts to broaden the path of school-enterprise cooperation.
Concurrent with the exhibition was the themed Fashion Show on "Culture Leading Fashion Consumption," with invited speakers including Professor Han Sheng from Shanghai Theatre Academy and Artistic Director of the National Ministry of Culture and Tourism Key Laboratory, Kaixi from China
Academy of Art, and Sanda Professor Wang Tianyun, former Vice President of Shanghai Film Group. They discussed the concept of "How culture leads fashion consumption." The event was attended by Zhu Shaozhong, Chairman and Party Secretary of Sanda University, Wang Jia, Deputy Party Secretary of Oriental International (Group) Limited, and honored guests from Oriental International Entrepreneurship Corporation Limited, Shanghai International Fashion Education Center (SIFEC), CONSINEE Group Limited, Shihong Textile Limited, etc. The event was hosted by Zhou Xudong, Honorary Dean of the Fashion Institute.
Zhou Xudong stated that the Fashion Institute of Sanda University would continue to work with the support of both the college and enterprises, commercializing and productizing creative designs, encouraging student works to flourish on the path of industrialization, while cultivating students with cultural confidence and an international outlook.
Professor Han Sheng, Professor Fan Kaixi, and Professor Wang Tianyun delivered academic keynote speeches on the topics of "Content Storytelling and Cultural Confidence," "Algorithmic Aesthetics and Evaluation of Fashion Consumer Goods Design," and "Cultural Originality and Technology." They expressed their development concepts on culture-leading fashion and fashion interpreting culture.
Following the Fashion Show, Chairman Zhu Shaozhong, Vice President Xue Zhengli from CONSINEE Group, and Chairman Chen Zhengkun from Shihong Textile jointly Sanda unveiled the "Teaching and Practice Base for Fashion Consumer Goods Industry Institute." The Fashion Consumer Goods Industry Institute is a "Shanghai Municipal Key Modern Industry Institute" successfully co-applied by Sanda University and Oriental International Group, witnessed by the leaders of both the college and enterprises. Xue Zhengli and other guests provided detailed introductions of their sponsoring companies and expressed their commitment to further promoting cooperation between the college and enterprises.
Theme:
The phrase "Towards the Light" first appeared in the "Ballad of Mount Lu." It symbolizes the pursuit of light and the spirit of seeking beauty. To be born facing the sun is to gain warmth and the power to grow. Moving towards the light means getting closer to the sun and escaping from shadows. When faced with various obstacles, let us dispel the haze and move towards the light.
The designers of the Fashion Institute of Sanda University conducted in-depth research, engaged in active thinking, and created innovative designs around the theme of their graduation works.
Over 80 sets of design works from students were showcased, representing a fusion of fashion and culture, and the integration of clothing and art. The CONSINEE Shanghai Center provided a comprehensive and three-dimensional platform for this display. The knitwear collection, refined through years of collaboration between the college and enterprises, emanated maturity, stability, and avant-garde modernity. All works were personally completed by student designers at the "SIFEC Knitwear Design Talent Training Base."
