Recently, the cyber security team of the police department in Chaling, Central China's Hunan Province, discovered that three people, in a bid to gain more followers, livestreamed a competition where the loser would be stung by bees on their mouth and private parts. The three individuals have been detained by the authorities for disturbing public order.

As such vulgar actions can easily lead to the banning of livestreaming accounts, one of the hosts, set up a WeChat group and privately sent vulgar videos to fans, causing a very negative impact. In recent years, major livestreaming platforms have launched special operations to combat unhealthy content, targeting violations such as malicious hype, vulgar competitions, and inciting others to disrupt the order of the platform.

In 2023, a total of 271,919 accounts involved in vulgar livestreaming activities have been penalized.
