Bicycle Riding campaign was launched at the Royal Danish Embassy in Beijing on June 27.
The Danish ambassador's speech was a great way to learn more about Denmark's cycling culture. The ambassador Thomas Østrup Møller said that he strongly believes that "cycling is an important part of having a healthy and happy lifestyle. As one of the most popular Danish nursery rhymes says, 'I'm happy with my bike.'"
Participants cycled together for a distance of 7 to 8 km, to Coznap in Jiuxianqiao area, Beijing in about an hour and a half.
The bicycle is the Danes' best friend and cycling has become a deeply rooted part of Danish culture. Denmark has 11 national cycle paths, with a network of routes spanning 4,770 kilometers across the country. There are countless regional and local routes. In Denmark, you can get anywhere you want to go by bike.
During the event, the Scandinavian Tourist Board, participating bloggers, and guests further shared Danish design aesthetics and cycling concepts, interspersed with several interesting raffle sessions to deepen people's knowledge and understanding of Danish cycling culture.
