Over 30 journalists from Mongolia kicked off their visit in East China's Jiangsu Province on Thursday and chose Suzhou, a city with an exquisite scenery, as their first stop in the province, during which they visited an internet of vehicles (IoV)-themed exhibition hall which showcases unmanned vehicles operating in real life scenarios, the exhibition center for the planning of artificial intelligence (AI) innovation and development in the city, the exhibition center for AI application in new-energy vehicles and smart home as well as the exhibition hall for the planning of biopharmaceuticals industry in the city.

At the Yangtze River Delta Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Demonstration Zone Intelligent Control Center, the group of Mongolian journalists were amazed at the real-time display of unmanned vehicles running in the demonstration zone with a total driving range of over 200 kilometers along with other traditional human-driven vehicles.

Serving as a technology application platform for AI, mobile internet, a new generation of information technology, internet, cloud computing, energy storage and other technologies, the industry chain of intelligent connected vehicles covers a wide range of over 30 fields including software algorithms, environment perception, simulation testing and infrastructure. The demonstration zone has become a pioneer in the integration of vehicles, streets and cloud connectivity.

At the Core Area of Suzhou National New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Development Pilot Zone, an employee provided an overview of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) with an industrial distribution made up of two 100-billion-yuan pillar industries of a new generation of information technology and high-end equipment manufacturing, three emerging industries including AI, biomedicine and nanotechnology application, and one modern service industry.

As of the end of 2022, the total output value of the AI industry alone exceeded 80 billion yuan ($11.03 billion).

At the Suzhou Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Mongolian journalists were deeply impressed with the voice-controlled man-machine interaction system applied in automobile and home automation.

Following a demonstration of turning on the lights or opening the curtains by talking to a control panel on the wall, the Mongolian journalists said that they were looking forward to reporting on this technology in Mongolia when they get back home.

At the exhibition hall of the National Center of Technology Innovation for Biopharmaceuticals (BioBAY), another employee explained the development of biomedical industry in the center, which over the past 15 years, has developed into a total area of 1.18 million square meters and has been home to more than 500 innovative biomedicine enterprises, taking shape of an industrial cluster focusing on innovative drugs, medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics as well as biotechnology.

B. Uuganbayar deputy chairman and secretary general of the Mongolian Association of Journalists said that Suzhou is not only a beautiful city with abundant natural and human landscape resources but also a particularly livable city with its urban planning and construction with cutting-edge technologies, which is well worth to learn from by Mongolia which tries to keep pace with China in term of urban and environment construction.
