A tipper truck which went out of control and bumped into pedestrians and other vehicles killed three people and injured another three in Chifeng city, in North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on Monday morning. The injured three people are not in a life-threatening status and local officials are investigating the incident.
According to a statement from the local traffic police in Songshan district in Chifeng, the tragic traffic accident happened around 9:22 am when the truck lost control in operation and bumped into other vehicles and pedestrians on the roadside.
A video clip that circulated online earlier Monday shows multiple people lying on the ground including one with a missing body part and with bloodstains seen everywhere. Besides, the video also shows several electric bikes lying on the ground and a severely damaged white vehicle in the front, the Changsha-based Xiaoxiang Morning News reported on Monday.
According to a witness working at the restaurant near the accident scene, the accident happened at the location where a fair was held. The truck lost control and bumped into the crowds of people until another truck stopped.
"The sound was so loud that we thought it came from the fall of a building," the witness said, "we don't want to talk about it since the accident was so horrible and the victims are so miserable."
The three victims who died from the accident were sent to two funeral parlors in the city on Monday morning, according to media reports.
