Recently in Xiangyang, Central China's Hubei Province, an old man surnamed Li was taking a nap when he noticed that his fan had stopped working. When he went outside to check, he saw thick smoke coming from his chicken coop. Panicking, he quickly dialed the number of local police who promptly arrived on the scene, rolled up their pants, and ran into the coop to move the chicks and feed. After 40 minutes, the fire was extinguished. Over 12,000 chicks were rescued, and six tons of chicken feed was saved, preventing an economic loss of over 77,000 yuan.

To prevent a second fire, officers thoroughly inspected the coop and surroundings to eliminate any risks. The fire is believed to have been caused by the aging structure of the chicken coop and old electrical wiring. Fortunately, due to the timely rescue, except the roof of the coop being burned, the chicks and feed were successfully moved, avoiding greater losses.

"Taking advantage of my good health, I started this chicken farm to support my family. These chicks are everything to us. Thank god the police arrived on time," Li exclaimed in relief.
