The refined oil pipeline project, with a length of 342 kilometer in northeast Thailand, is one of the two pipelines for Thailand, and it covers an oil pipeline and supporting pump station, valve room and tank terminal.
Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Supattanapong Punmeechaow highlighted the importance of the project, adding that it will help improve national energy security and boost local economic development, according to peopledaily.com.cn.

The report said over 70 percent of the major mechanical equipment was sourced from China, and all the 29,000 tons of steel came from Baosteel, one of China's top steel companies.
China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co had constructed over 1,500 kilometers of pipeline across Thailand over the past ten years under the Belt and Road Initiative, account for over 60 percent of the country's total pipelines network.
