The 6th Bangkok-Shanghai Economic Conference, organized by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai and Shanghai Foreign Investment Development Board (Invest Shanghai), was held on August 16, themed as Advancing Green Partnership between Thailand and the Yangtze River Delta (YRD).

Around 200 government officials, business leaders and business association representatives participated in the conference.

Prinat Apirat, Consul-General of Thailand in Shanghai, proposed enhanced Thailand-YRD cooperation in low-carbon technologies, two-way business and investment in green industry, as well as green finance and environment, social and governance investment.

Zhu Yi, deputy director-general of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, said that Shanghai will actively promote in-depth exchanges between the two countries in the fields of green and low-carbon energy generation, energy conservation as well as the environmental protection in order to promote China and Thailand technical exchanges as well as the project cooperation, which will also inject strong impetus into the development of the economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries.

First held in 2018, the annual conference promotes closer economic cooperation between Thailand and the YRD region as a whole.
