Israeli attacks followed Hezbollah's missile shelling earlier in the day on the Israeli military site of Al-Jardah near the Lebanese border, which, according to Hezbollah, caused "many" casualties among the Israeli forces.

Hezbollah said in a statement that the operation was a response to Israeli attacks on Monday, which led to the deaths of three Hezbollah members.

The situation on the Lebanese-Israeli border escalated after Hezbollah on Sunday morning fired tens of rockets toward Israeli military sites in support of Hamas, prompting the Israeli forces to respond by firing heavy artillery at several areas in southeast Lebanon.
