According to media reports on Wednesday, a bride-to-be surnamed Tang from Guangzhou city, South China's Guangdong Province, expressed dissatisfaction with the discrepancy between the haircut length and the agreed length after she went to a barbershop to get hair cut for her wedding. Tang sued the hair salon for compensation of 8,500 yuan ($1,165), and required the salon to refund the top-up fee in her salon membership card.
Judge Deng Ruhui from a local court said that Tang clearly stated that she wanted her hair cut to the elbow. However, during the process, the hairdresser cut the hair to the shoulder. After the hair cut was completed, Tang immediately raised objections and demanded compensation. The hairdresser claimed that the length was cut according to Tang's request and she did not raise any objections during the service.
After reviewing surveillance footage, the local court found that the final length of Tang's hair was 10 centimeters shorter than the previously agreed length by both parties. The hair salon did breach the contract, but the violation was not serious. Therefore, the hair salon was ordered to compensate the woman 500 yuan, and refund her membership card worth 900 yuan.
