A man surnamed Zhang in Qiqihar city, Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, posted a video on Tuesday stating that an injured red-crowned crane which has been taken care of by his wife now visits their small courtyard every day. Zhang said that after the crane was injured, it would always linger at their doorstep. His wife would feed it corn, and staff from the nature reserve would regularly bring fish for the injured bird and also administer medication. This pattern has been going on for over a month, resulting in the crane turning up at the same time every day.
"The crane is not afraid of people," Zhang said. "It flies away at night, and I don't know where it goes, but it comes back when it's light out, just like going to work each day on time." According to Zhang, he also prepared food for the crane which he left in the yard. After it recovers, the staff said they will bring it back to the nature reserve. Some netizens commented that it is a harmonious coexistence between humans and animals.
