On October 21, the grand opening of the 12th Qudi Cucumber Culture Festival in Qudi Sub-district of Jiyang District, Jinan, Shandong Province added the joy of harvest to the “Hometown of Chinese Cucumbers” and showcased the beautiful scenery of rural revitalization with its strong agriculture, beautiful countryside and wealthy farmers.

During the past 30 years, cucumber plantation in Qudi has undergone a transformation process from manual planting to high-tech methods; from retail planting to large-scale production; and from an "unknown brand" to being certified as a "National Famous and Special New Brand Agricultural Product." Currently, there are 30,000 cucumber greenhouses in a planting area of 60,000 acres, making it the largest high-quality cucumber planting base in China. The annual production of cucumbers exceeds 1.1 million tons, and they are well sold nationwide and exported to countries such as Russia and Kazakhstan. The transaction volume exceeds 1.7 billion yuan, and the annual per capita income increased by 8,000 yuan, providing a strong engine for strengthening agriculture, enriching farmers and becoming a model of comprehensive rural revitalization.

Little cucumber has played a big role in help realizing the dream of rural revitalization. Additionally, the State Grid Jinan Power Supply Company has taken the initiative to ensure regular power supply services for local farmers. Taking the 24 solar terms as the time point and based on the growth  needs of cucumber cultivation, the company has drafted a set of service plan to meet the growth needs of cucumber cultivation in seedling cultivation, transplantation, maturation and launching stages. There, they carry out value-added services such as entering hundreds of households, listening to their opinions, handling their affairs, and solving their difficulties, to timely understand the electricity needs of greenhouse planting households, and solve various electricity problems in greenhouse production.

What’s more, they have also accelerated the intelligent transformation of the distribution substation area, fully utilizing power user electricity collection, integrated electricity, line loss management systems, and real-time data on the electricity load in greenhouses.
