Recently, the Artists' Rendezvous 2023 - Workshop for Hong Kong and Macao Artists kicked off in Dunhuang, Northwest China's Gansu Province.

The event invited 13 artists from institutions such as the Hong Kong Artists Association, the Macao Artists Association, and the Macao Youth Artists Association, as well as several artists from the National Art Museum of China, the Chinese Academy of Art and Gansu Academy of Painting. They will participate in a creative camp.

From October 17 to 26, during the 10-day field trip, the artists will not only have in-depth exchanges with Chinese mainland artists through seminars and salons, but also visit important historical and cultural relics such as the Mogao Caves, explore the magnificent desert scenery, and feel the thou-sand-year echo of the Silk Road, the channel of civilization between the East and the West.

Dunhuang has rich cultural resources of prehistoric culture, northern ethnic minority culture, and Silk Road culture. It is a veritable treasure trove of Chinese national culture and a major site for Chinese civilization.

The Hong Kong and Macao artists who went to Dunhuang will be able to experience the splendor of Chinese civilization and see how it interacts with the world, as well as have in-depth exchanges with mainland artists and find further inspiration.
