On Saturday, the Scenery and Color: 2023 Contemporary Green Landscape Painting Academic Invitational Exhibition opened at the Suzhou Art Museum in East China's Jiangsu Province.

The exhibition consists of two parts: a display of album of paintings and hand scrolls. A total of 101 works by 99 painters from all over the country are on display, of which 42 are albums and 59 are hand scrolls.

Landscape painting is a typical representative of traditional Chinese culture, containing profound cultural connotations in its artistic construction and reflecting the Chinese people's aesthetic and artistic views.

Xu Jun, vice president of the Chinese Painting Institute, said in the preface of the exhibition that "greenery," as the most distinctive visual image in the classical form of landscape painting, is a bright splash of color in the history of Chinese art development, becoming an active symbol in traditional Chinese culture, interpreting and showing the historical picture of harmony and beauty with the spirit of a landscape.

While creating a unique sensory experience, the exhibition conveys the aesthetic spirit of the times with sand hand scrolls depicting green landscapes.

For the academic part of this exhibition, a salon was held with more than 50 scholars and artists from all over the country expressing their opinions and views on the inheritance and development of green landscape painting in contemporary times.
