To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye, the Turkish Embassy in China hosted reception on October 27 in Beijing, and the Turkish Consulates General in Guangzhou and Shanghai hosted receptions on October 30. 

"China and Türkiye are old friends. This friendship goes back to centuries. We would like to elevate our relations from 'strategic cooperation' to high levels. China is also at the center of the 'Asia Anew' initiative that Türkiye announced in 2019," said Turkish Ambassador to China İsmail Hakki Musa, while delivering a speech at the reception.  

Ambassadors and officials from the diplomatic missions, as well as Turkish citizens and Chinese friends attended the Beijing celebration, according to the Turkish Embassy. 

"China sincerely wishes that the Turkish people to continually create glories on the path of national development," Nong Rong, assistant minister at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said at the Beijing event.

In Shanghai, Consul General Hüseyin Emre Engin greeted officials from the Shanghai government department, guests from Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Anhui provinces, along with foreign diplomats in Shanghai, as well as the Turkish community in the region. 

"The Consulate General strives to strengthen our bilateral relations based on a win-win approach in all areas. We work in close cooperation with our Chinese friends to develop commercial relations, benefit from the great potential in the field of culture and tourism, and establish an institutional structure of our academic cooperation channels," Engin said.
