China called on Myanmar to cooperate with China to maintain the stability of the China-Myanmar border, effectively protect the safety of Chinese citizens and property along the border, as well as strengthen the security measures to Chinese personnel, institutions and projects in Myanmar, said Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong, during the visit in Myanmar from November 3 to 5, according to China's Foreign Ministry.
As a friendly neighbor, China sincerely hopes that Myanmar can restore stability and development as soon as possible. China supports all parties in Myanmar to deal with the differences properly under the constitutional and legal framework, and achieve reconciliation through dialogue, Nong stressed.
China attaches great importance to developing a good-neighborhood and friendly relations with Myanmar, and will advance high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting the building of a China-Myanmar community with shared future deeper and more concrete, said Nong.
Myanmar reiterates its adherence to the one-China principle, firmly supports China's position on issues concerning China's core interests, and is willing to work with China to implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative.
Myanmar is willing to advance the cooperation of the China-Myanmar economic corridor, safeguarding the safety of Chinese enterprises and personnel in Myanmar, and the stability and order of the Myanmar-China border, Myanmar officials noted.
Myanmar will continue to carry out joint law enforcement actions with China and other neighboring countries to crack down on online gambling and telecommunication fraud and create a sound environment for regional development.
On November 3, the 10th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Senior Officials' Meeting was held in Naypyidaw, Myanmar. Nong Rong stressed that China is advancing Chinese modernization with high-quality development, and will continue to practice the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness in its neighborhood diplomacy.
China and Myanmar will
strengthen cooperation in combating telecommunications fraud, online gambling and other illicit sectors, so as to safeguard security and interests of both countries, said Wang Xiaohong, Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security, when meeting with Myanmar's Chairman of the State Administration Council Min Aung Hlaing in Myanmar on October 31.
