Birgit Murr, Commercial Consul and Acting Director of the Consulate General of Austria in Guangzhou, presented awards to Wang Sheng, General Manager of State Grid Jiangsu Yining Energy Industry Group Co., Ltd. and Hu Hao, Chief Expert of Huawei Electric Power Digital Corps
The Energy Globe Award ceremony was successfully held in Shenzhen recently. The Huawei State Grid Yancheng Microcarbon Huineng Science and Technology Innovation Industrial Park is the only project in China to receive this honor. Ms. Birgit Murr, Commercial Consul and Acting Director of the Austrian Consulate General in Guangzhou, presented the awards to Wang Sheng, General Manager of State Grid Jiangsu Yining Energy Industry Group Co., Ltd., and Hu Hao, Chief Expert of Huawei Power Digital Corps. The award aims to recognize the outstanding contributions made by State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Yancheng Power Supply Branch and Huawei Electric Power Digital Corps in energy transformation and green and sustainable development, and to help Chinese enterprises improve their reputation in Europe and globally.
This award is hosted by the Austrian Global Energy Foundation, and co-organized by international organizations such as the United Nations Industrial Organization and the Austrian Federal Department for Climate Action. It was selected by top experts in the global energy industry and ultimately stood out from over 1,000 projects. Ms. Birgit Murr said, "The Huawei State Grid Yancheng Microcarbon Huineng Science and Technology Innovation Industrial Park project has been internationally recognized and has become a global model of carbon neutrality and sustainable development."
This award-winning project is led by Dr Hu Hao from Huawei. Based on his proposed ternary development model of energy transformation, zero carbon transformation, and digital transformation, and in collaboration with State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Yancheng Power Supply Branch, three scenarios are created: smart energy management, smart zero carbon management, and smart park management applications. Through the integration of source, network, load, and storage, a diversified clean energy supply system will be built and the connection between production and consumption will be promoted to maximize nearby consumption. Cloud edge collaboration technology and digital intelligent applications are introduced to create a smart operation center empowered by digital technology, and accurately control park operations. Comprehensive energy service solutions are improved to assist in dual carbon full process management, achieve green and low-carbon operation and intelligent senseless management in the park, provide promotable and replicable cases, and contribute to building a green, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern energy system.
In addition, the project and solution were awarded the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Champion Award in June 2022, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations, under the theme of "Information and Communication Technology for Global Development". They were successfully selected as one of the top ten global sustainable development projects by Paulson in 2022.
