A seminar themed on anti-corruption was held recently within Chinese Football Association (CFA) amid a deepening anti-corruption storm sweeping Chinese soccer sector. 

Aiming to foster the self-discipline awareness within the CFA staff members and cultivate incorruptible culture in the industry, the CFA invited the Discipline Inspection Commission of Shenyang to hold the seminar titled "Intelligent Anti-corruption Makes Corruption Impossible to Hide" on November 17. 

Some 160 people from the CFA, China Football Industry Development Corp and Chinese Football League preparatory group attended the seminar.

At the two-hour seminar, the attendees were introduced to basic knowledge and policies in the field of discipline inspection and how big data has been involved in anti-corruption inspection, review and governance. 

The seminar also discussed the feasibility of introducing big data, a valuable weapon against corruption, into the governance of Chinese soccer. 

At least 14 CFA officials have been placed under investigation since November 2022 when an investigation into former head coach of the Chinese men's national football team Li Tie was initiated.

As China's football industry faces an anti-graft crackdown, sports authorities have conducted several meetings to reflect on the problems that have emerged across the industry.
