A customs officer at the Huanggang Customs in Shenzhen city, South China's Guangdong Province, intercepted and inspected a female passenger and her luggage at the Futian Port's entry channel.
The woman appeared anxious and her pant pockets were seen bulging, so she was stopped for inspection. Upon examination, three black socks containing live animals were found in her pant pockets. When her socks were opened, it was discovered that each sock contained two live snakes, totaling six snakes. After professional identification, it was determined that all six live snakes carried by the passenger were ball pythons, which are listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. Netizens were shocked by the woman's illegal behavior, with some commenting, "I don't understand why there are always people who try to smuggle things into customs. What if these dangerous animals escape and harmed others? Such behavior is disgustful."
