Focusing on exhibiting the diversity of Chinese culture, a promotional event was recently launched in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) aimed at boosting cultural and tourist exchanges between the Chinese mainland and the HKSAR.
Diverse China, Goodies of Festival showcased more than 20 outstanding performing arts programs covering genres such as music concerts, dance dramas and plays. Among them the dance drama
Poet Dongpo was a major highlight.
Inspired by Su Shi, one of the important literati in history, the dance drama was introduced to get Hong Kong audiences engaged in China's traditional cultural spirit. By interpreting the ancient story with contemporary dance, the show revealed the innovative character of the current Chinese cultural and entertainment industries.
Besides artistic performances, the promotional event also included other activities such as showcasing well-designed posters and an exhibition dedicated to newly launched cultural creative products.
"The blooming cultural creative industry is a great platform for exchanges, cooperation and learning, and promoting the internationalized development of China's cultural industry," cultural policy expert Song Weiping told the Global Times.
The promotional event is co-organized by organizations such as the Department of Industrial Development of China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Bauhinia Culture Group and the China Arts and Entertainment Group.
