Recently, a man who works in Moutai liquor company, gradually developed a deep resentment possibly due to a disagreement with his boss over unpaid wages. Over half a month, he visited the company's warehouse more than ten times. Specifically targeting Feitian Moutai liquor, he stole nearly 20 boxes of the famous liquor. After the police intervened, the man claimed that his psychological pressure was so great that he chose to turn himself in.
On February 6, at around 6 pm, the police station of the Dongxihu district of the Wuhan Public Security Bureau received a report from the manager of a company in their jurisdiction. The report stated that multiple boxes of expensive liquor, worth over 200,000 yuan (about $28,100), were stolen from their warehouse.
Based on the clues provided by the informant, the on-site inspection and the retrieved video, the police discovered that a former employee of the company, surnamed Zhu, was most suspicion of committing the crime. The police immediately summoned Zhu to the police station for questioning.
One hour later, the suspect Zhu voluntarily brought five boxes of Feitian Moutai that he hadn't had time to sell to the police station to turn himself in. Zhu confessed to the crime of theft without hesitation. "At first, I stole them just to compensate myself, thinking it was a 'justified theft.' But later, I couldn't stop, but stole more and more. Meanwhile, the psychological pressure also gradually increased, so I lived in constant fear and anxiety," Zhu said.
The money he got from selling the liquor was used to repay debts and squandered on other purchases. Currently, Zhu has been criminally detained by the police for theft, and the case is still under further investigation.
