Recently, the Judiciary Police of the Macao Special Administrative Region successfully cracked a shocking case of drug smuggling involving human bodies at the Macao International Airport. A mother and son from Peru, unable to repay their debts, took the risk of participating in drug trafficking. They expelled 54 condoms filled with drugs from their bodies, as well as an egg-shaped object hidden in the mother's vagina. After examination, these items were found to contain cocaine, with a total weight of 1,945.85 grams and a black-market value of approximately 4.79 million yuan ($0.68 million).

Following recent drug trafficking cases in Macao and its neighboring areas, the local police strengthened their inspection at the Macao International Airport. After analyzing the suspicious behavior of the two Peruvian individuals, who arrived in Macao on a flight from Manila on the afternoon of December 11, the police deployed personnel at the airport and successfully apprehended the pair. X-ray examinations revealed foreign objects in their bodies suspected to be drugs.

During the investigation, the mother admitted that on December 8, she swallowed three drug-filled condoms as instructed by her contact, while her son swallowed 51. The police believed that Macao was not the final destination for the drugs, and that the drug trafficking group used Macao as a transit point to transport the drugs elsewhere. They will continue to trace the final destination of the drugs and the whereabouts of other individuals involved in the case.
