The Meet the Shu digital immersive exhibition, organized by the Meet You Museum, has unfolded its grandeur in Beijing. Spanning nearly 1,000 square meters of light and shadow space, the exhibition employs technology to interpret the Sanxingdui culture, creating a sensory, interactive and audio-visual exhibition experience.

As the political, cultural, and economic center of the ancient Shu Kingdom which had its heyday around 3,000 years ago, the Sanxingdui site has unearthed a trove of treasures that have astounded the world, earning a reputation as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.

The static displays showcase archaeological findings that reveal the production and daily life, sacrificial culture and belief systems of the Shu Kingdom through large-scale simulations, replicas of artifacts, and interactive digital multimedia. Replicas of iconic Sanxingdui cultural artifacts, such as a sacred bronze tree and a giant mask, immerse visitors in an ambiance of inspiration.

The exhibition also features interactive exhibits in which visitors can generate their own mirrored image as an ancient Shu person. As they move, the corresponding ancient Shu figure dances in synchrony, creating an immersive exchange across the boundaries of time.

The Meet the Shu exhibition commenced its global tour in August in Shanghai and has since traveled to cities including Nanjing and Beijing. The Beijing leg of the exhibition is set to conclude on April 7, 2024.
