The Jing·Essence New Year Concert, featuring renowned Chinese music maestros and classic melodies, recently took place at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing.
With the theme of "Chinese Music," the concert brought together influential contemporary traditional Chinese music and opera artists. Utilizing various music traditions such as the instruments pipa and guqin, Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera, the concert featured renditions of classic tunes like "High Mountains and Flowing Water," "Jasmine Flower" and "The Peony Pavilion."
This New Year concert is a live stage presentation of the Jing·Essence short video series.
Produced by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and presented by the Poly Theatre, the Jing·Essence short video series showcases Beijing's beautiful scenery and art by integrating outstanding traditional and modern Chinese culture, allowing international audiences to encounter the most picturesque views and artistic wonders of Beijing in the videos.
During the concert, artists such as erhu player Ai Bing and young pianist Bi Yunfei to-gether presented a diverse range of Chinese musical genres, from ancient melodies to folk tunes. Each stage presentation was seamlessly wo-ven into the immersive stage de-sign, creating a visually captivating aesthetic with distinct Eastern charm.
