A police officer from the Command Investigation Center of the Yanshi Branch of the Luoyang Public Security Bureau in recent days discovered a major online gambling case involving 100 million yuan ($14 million) after noticing abnormal electricity usage. This incident has sparked widespread discussion.

According to the police officer, he accidentally heard from a friend that their child had taken a job in a studio in a residential building. The salary was high and the money came quickly, but it didn't seem very legitimate.

After investigating the studio, the police officer found that all the members of the studio had high expenses and consumed hundreds or thousands of kilowatt-hours of electricity every day, almost tens of times more than an ordinary household in a day.

The police officer suspected that this was likely a gang involved in telecommunications fraud.

After carrying out the arrest, the police officers discovered that it was actually a criminal gang engaged in online gambling.

According to the suspect's confession, there are two ways for this "casino" to make profits: renting out accounts with gold coins or charging money to help players top up gold coins. It operates 24 hours a day and attracts a large number of gamblers.

After investigating the suspects, the police realized that there was a nationwide online gambling network involving nine provinces and 18 cities with an amount involved exceeding 100 million yuan. The number of registered users has reached nearly 200,000. They immediately reported the case to the Henan Provincial Public Security Department and formed a task force led by the Yanshi police to conduct a more in-depth investigation into the case.
