Recently, the list of "Top 100 New Urban Area Development Projects 2023" was released, and Chengdu Eastern New Area (CENA) ranked first, achieving this honor for a third consecutive year.

The list is an official ranking of new areas at the provincial level and below by the CCID Consulting Urban Economic Research Center on the basis of the databases of urban new areas. It aims to  provide a development evaluation system in five dimensions: new industries, new technologies, new formats, new spaces and new models.

The China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID)  believes that CENA is a vanguard of the development of new urban areas in western China. The area keeps to improve its public service system, modern industrial system, regulatory and policy system, and is speeding up the construction of urban core functions, comprehensively building a livable and business friendly new home that highlights high-quality development.

"In addition to its locational advantage, the CENA has adequate space for the development of high-end industries. This explains why it has been ranked first for three consecutive years," said Vice Director of CCID Consulting Urban Economic Research Center.

In 2023, the CEDA generally showed a good trend of "speedy recovery, sustained improvement and structural optimization." It is expected that the annual regional GDP of the area will exceed 30 billion yuan, an increase of 23% year-on-year, and will cross the 2 billion mark for two consecutive years.

The area will favor forward-looking industries, strengthen the support of the modern industrial system, cultivate a number of eco-leading enterprises, promote the transformation of innovation achievements, and maintain the surging development trend of the region.
