After a five-year hiatus, the German Radio Orchestra returned to China. Following successful performances in Shanghai, Hefei, Hangzhou, and Shaoxing, the orchestra held its final tour concert at the Zhongshan Park Music Hall in Beijing, on January 2.
German Ambassador to China Patricia Flor attended the event. During the event, Flor personally congratulated conductor Lior Shambadal, orchestra artistic director and concertmaster Walter Schreiber, and the rest of the orchestra's performers. The New Year concert featured classic works by European composers as well as Chinese music, providing the audience with a rich musical experience. During the performance, cellist Joanna Sachryn soloed in Camille Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto A Minor.
