Recently, a tourism boom has swept China, and cultural and tourism departments in many provinces have started showcasing their unique methods to attract tourists, according to media reports on Tuesday. The director of the local cultural and tourism department on Monday performed the so-called "subject-three" dance in Zhangjiajie, Central China's Hunan Province, which drew heated discussion online.
Starting from January 9, the cultural and tourism department of Henan Province has released 20 to 30 videos every day through its official Sina Weibo account. Over four consecutive days, it released a total of 112 videos, continuously showcasing the local cultural and tourism resources, attracting nearly one million followers.
Surprisingly, at a high-speed railway station in Henan, 100 diamonds were prepared as gifts on January 14, with the largest one being one carat. Visitors only needed to answer a few questions about the city of Luoyang or recite poetry with the host on-site to receive the gift.
Additionally, provinces including Hebei, Shandong and Shanxi have actively introduced their regional highlights through short videos on the internet to attract tourists. Some provinces invited celebrities or artists to promote local tourism resources. Netizens also actively recommended their hometowns online and enthusiastically discussed their desired travel destinations.
