On February 19th, the first experimental primary school in Shapingba, District of Chongqing, ushered in the opening ceremony of the new semester. On the first day of school, the school carefully planned a series of colorful activities around the theme of "A strong nation dreaming of the future" and the festive atmosphere in the Year of the Dragon, which brought students a unique school experience.

Early in the morning a lovely "Little Dragon" and the teachers greeted the students at the school gate and expressed their good wishes for the New Year.  Liu Zihao, Class 8, Grade 4, said, "I feel very excited because I can play with my friends. The opening ceremony today was exceptionally unique and magnificent, providing a delightful surprise. "

"A few days before the start of school, teachers and parents began to decorate the classroom and strove to create a festive atmosphere for their children's new semester . I hope that students in the new semester will keep growing healthy and happy," Fourth-grade math teacher Tang Jieting said. In their very first class of the new semester, the children took turns to take the stage and share interesting stories and thoughts about the Spring Festival. Some talked about the warm moments of family reunion, some shared their travel experiences, and some showed new skills and talents they learned during their holidays.


 
 
At precisely 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the opening ceremonies "A Strong Nation Dreaming of the Future" commenced with a captivating dragon dance performed by the students. Chen Juan, the new Party branch secretary of the school, delivered an inspiring message to all students, urging them to approach the new semester with both ambition and grounded determination. She outlined three pillars for a successful semester: embracing growth, actively engaging in learning, and finding joy in the process. "Every individual is akin to a twinkling star, each with its own brilliance," she emphasized, underscoring this not only as the school's philosophy but also as an aspiration for every student. The goal is for each unique child to craft their own path to growth and ultimately light up his own bright future. 

To enrich the opening festivities, the school arranged various activities deeply rooted in traditional culture. These included the presentation of a situational comedy titled "Civilization between Classes," an exhibition showcasing cultural treasures, and a collective painting session themed "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains" involving both teachers and students. Such endeavors not only allow children to experience the allure of traditional culture but also instill a profound sense of connection to their home and country.


 
The opening day of the Spring Festival not only offers a fresh start but also an opportunity to uphold and innovate upon tradition, while at the same time fostering an international perspective and a deep-seated love for one's homeland. Principal Liu Shajuan,emphasised that the opening ceremony, which focused on China's heritage and global vision, serves as a foundation for nurturing students' patriotism and international understanding. Over the years, the school has established friendly relations with many international schools and carried out co-construction and sharing courses. Moving forward, the school will continue to commit to the school philosophy that every student is a radiant star, and provide children with a broader stage and richer resources to support their growth and development.
