A new museum dedicated to Chinese landscape painter Yang Liuyi opened in Zhongshan, South China's Guangdong Province, recently. Over 50 paintings created by Yang are on display at the opening exhibition of the Yang Liuyi City Art Museum. Reflecting the beauty of China's great rivers and mountains and the modern cities, the works include city views across China, from Beijing and Guangzhou to Qingdao and Xi'an.
According to Meng Xiangning, vice chairman of the federation of literary and art circles in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, painter Yang Liuyi created a creative artistic depiction of the urban landscape with traditional skills, reflecting the new relationship and new balance between people and the city, people and nature, and city and nature in contemporary society.
Through the paintings on display, visitors can feel the color and charm of urban landscape paintings as well as traditional scenes.
Speaking at the opening, Yang reviewed the development of urban landscape painting. He said that in the future, he will follow the path of innovation and strive to create more works that celebrate the great rivers and mountains of the motherland and the cultural construction of modern cities.
