Three people were banned from entering the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding for life following their uncivilized behavior while visiting the Chengdu Field Research Center for Giant Pandas, also known as the Panda Valley.

Specifically, a man surnamed Li, aged 41, threw sugarcane into the giant panda enclosure on February 11, while a 26-year-old man surnamed Liu threw stones on February 12, and a 64-year-old man surnamed Qin threw banana peels on February 14.

Their uncivilized behavior was discovered by security personnel and they were asked to sign a commitment to act in a more appropriate manner. The keepers cleaned up the items thrown by the three men as soon as possible, so the giant pandas did not touch.

Considering that their behavior violated the base visiting regulations and may cause serious harm to the giant pandas, the three men were permanently banned from entering the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, including the Panda Valley.

After inspection and observation by specialists, the physical condition of the giant pandas remained normal. The base will continue to monitor the physical condition of each giant panda to ensure their health and safety.

The giant panda base asked all visitors to abide by the visiting requirements. Flammable, explosive, toxic or other harmful items as well as pets are strictly prohibited from being brought into the base. Tourists are also not allowed to feed, litter, smoke, or tap on the glass, so as to protect the giant pandas.
