Aida Balayeva, Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, visited the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing accompanied by Wang Ning, Director of the NCPA, on Sunday and appreciated the original folk dance drama A Dream of the Red Mansion by Jiangsu Grand Theatre.

Kazakhstan is China's good neighbor, good friend, good partner, and good brother. Under the strategic leadership of the countries' leaders, China and Kazakhstan have maintained close exchanges and cooperation in the field of humanistic exchanges, and have dispatched cultural and artistic troupes to each other's countries for performances all year round. Balayeva expressed her hope that more Kazakh artists will take to the stage of the NCPA in the future to show the rich and diverse culture and art of Kazakhstan to the Chinese audience.

A Dream of the Red Mansion is one of the four classical Chinese masterpieces widely known in the world. The original folk-dance drama A Dream of the Red Mansion depicts the love triangle between Jia Baoyu, Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai as the main storyline, and displays the classical symbols rich in Chinese characteristics, which adhere to the principle of respecting the original text and at the same time, infuse it with a unique modern aesthetics and significance, which is a tribute to the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.
