Customs officers in Luohu of Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province, recently seized about 190,200 hidden smuggled live fish fry from four travelers in the exit channel of travel inspection, which were then identified as eel fry by professional organizations, according to China's General Administration of Customs on Tuesday.
According to the officers, four travelers carrying suitcases were acting abnormally during the machine inspection of the baggage when they were on the way out of the country through the departure hall of Luohu Port at 9 am. Customs officers at the scene then opened the suitcases for inspection and found that the suitcases contained 26 packs of live fish fry sealed in transparent plastic bags.
The customs reminded that according to relevant laws and regulations, carrying or mailing live animals and plants into the country is prohibited, and it is also not allowed to introduce exotic species without approval.
