As the temperature rises, residents in southern China are experiencing consecutive days of high humidity, and many interesting phenomena brought by this have sparked heated discussion among netizens.
Frequent humid weather generally occurs in the coastal areas of South China during period between winter and spring. At this time, cold air moves southward while warm and humid air masses over the sea move northward, resulting in the convergence of cold and warm air masses in South China to form a quasi-stationary front, causing a sharp increase in humidity in the air. This leads to the formation of water droplets on the surfaces of some objects when they encounter warm and humid air currents.
Some netizens living in the southern part of the country posted photos showing water droplets gathering on their ceiling, or flowing down the walls due to the continuous humid weather, and some even said that their hallway was filled with fog and they couldn't see their fingers when they reached out. Besides, some opened bags of potato chips even turned into "soft dumpling skins" because the air was too humid. When some northerners first experienced this kind of weather, they thought the dripping water on the ceiling was due to a burst water pipe upstairs.
To reduce inconvenience caused by the continuous humid weather, some netizens suggest that people in the south should close their windows in the morning and evening, especially those facing south and southeast. At the same time, they should try not to mop the floor and better use a dehumidifier or turn on the air conditioning dehumidification mode indoors.
