A college student named Li Junxian from Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan Province, is a member of the Zhengzhou Red Cross volunteer service team. Since the age of 18, she has been persistently setting up first aid "stalls" during holidays. In just three years, she has taught nearly 300 people first aid knowledge, according to media reports on Tuesday.
The most impressive experience for her was when she taught a little boy cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the Heimlich maneuver for choking on foreign objects. Unexpectedly, the little boy's 3-year-old brother choked on something, and he saved his brother's life using the Heimlich maneuver.
Li said that this is the significance of setting up first aid stalls, and she hopes that those who have learnt can pass on the knowledge and help more people learn first aid.
Netizens praised the girl for her kind heart in online comments, while some said it was necessary to learn first aid, which could help saving lives in emergencies.
