Chinese President Xi Jinping met representatives from the US business, strategic and academic communities in Beijing on Wednesday, as China hosts a series of high-level events this week. 

The Boao Forum for Asia convened its annual conference in Boao, South China's Hainan Province on Tuesday, with officials and other participants calling for unity and cooperation in Asia and the world to jointly tackle rising regional and global challenges.

Over the past 65 years, Xizang has undergone tremendous development and change. As a scholar who has visited Xizang four times, Colin Mackerras, a fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and world-renowned sinologist, told the Global Times that there has been vast positive change in Xizang since 1959. 

A violent incident at a concert venue on the outskirts of Moscow resulted in the death of 139 individuals and left over 100 injured. Several Chinese residents in Russia shared their close encounters and emotions regarding the terror attack with the Global Times.
