Huawei started sales of two smartphones in its highly anticipated Pura 70 series on Thursday morning, and they sold out rapidly as consumers flocked to order them.
Like the previous Mate 60 series launched last year, the new products offer eye-catching functions and designs.
The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and Huawei Pura 70 Pro went on sale at 10:08 am on Thursday, and both Huawei Mall and Huawei's official flagship stores on JD.com and Taobao showed that the models sold out soon after the launch.
In a public letter to users, the company said that each person can only reserve one model, and reservations require valid identification documents, including citizen ID cards.
The Pura 70 series is reportedly equipped with Kirin chips and has 5G-level capabilities, according to wallstreet.cn, indicating that Huawei's 5G mobile phones have made a full return.
The Pura 70 series has greatly upgraded camera functions. The new series will also be equipped with HarmonyOS 4.2, supporting BeiDou short message communication and Tiantong-1 satellite calls.
The launch of the new series drew more than 60 million views and 480,000 comments on Sina Weibo as of press time, with many netizens sharing their excitement about the new products' functions and design.
Huawei's official Sina Weibo account released a video introducing the Pura 70 series on Monday.
In the video, Huawei Executive Director Richard Yu announced that the Huawei P series has been upgraded to Huawei Pura, starting again with a new attitude.
