The book fair rolled out a standout project called "Books of the Future," which aims to initiate a global redefine the concept of "books" and knowledge by integrating art and technology and inspiring creative design solutions and products.

The project will deal with various aspects of the book industry such as product form, industrial direction, scientific and technological trends, and future business models. It will also tackle new ways to display art books.

The book fair has attracted more than 100 book publishers, publishing brands and bookstores. At least 15,000 kinds of art books are on exhibition, which is divided into three major book display zones - art collections, original books and high-quality second-hand books.

Visitors can explore two major book binding design exhibitions, which showcase the evolution of bookbinding over time, providing insights into the creative process of designers and the aesthetics of book binding.

Kou Qin, general manager of Guardian Art Center and main organizer of this event, said that this year's book fair aims to promote the concept of "books being more than just books." The book fair showcases the aesthetic value, cultural connotations and innovative thinking of art books, highlighting people's heritage, love and exploration of art and culture.

"Despite the popularity of digital reading today, paper books still carry a unique cultural charm and reading experience. Art books do not only feature beautiful content, but also integrate the beauty of paper, printing, and binding design. At the book fair, readers can touch and smell the books and appreciate the design of books. Such an immersive way of reading cannot be replaced by digital reading," Kou noted.

The book fair will last till April 28, offering reading activities, including themed lectures, salons and book sharing opportunities.
