Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Cultural Counselor of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in China, visited the Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on April 17 to initiate more student exchanges between Saudi Arabia and China.
Zheng Chengjun, vice president of the university, met with the visiting delegation, noting that since its establishment, BISU has developed a distinctive educational approach centered around foreign languages and tourism studies, fostering a large number of talents in foreign affairs and diplomacy.
He expressed that as an open international university, BISU is committed to facilitating Saudi students' study arrangements and promoting the internationalization of talent development in "Chinese Language and Tourism" thereby supporting Saudi Arabia's transition from an oil-based economy to diversified economic models. He expressed gratitude to the Saudi Arabia Embassy in China for its support and invited Saudi scholars to visit BISU for exchanges.
Al-Zahrani emphasized Saudi Arabia's keen interest in cooperation with China and a desire for more Saudi students to learn the Chinese language and acquire professional skills.
Based on research into the academic offerings of various Chinese universities, he recognized BISU's clear strengths in tourism and Chinese language education as being well-aligned with the learning needs and talent development goals of Saudi students.
He said he looks forward to maintaining close communication with the university to ensure students' academic success and jointly compose beautiful stories of friendship and cooperation.
